Kaia is the alpha, top of the pecking order. She is always serious, and continuously on the lookout for any present danger. The first to greet you as you approach, and the only hen to do a quick headcount assuring that all the flock is visible and safe. She sometimes can be seen off by herself running drills. Head down, wings up, charging at the invisible threat, as if practicing so that she may rise to the occasion if such courage is ever warranted.
